Hi, Has anyone experienced any overheating issues on a 2013 Kia Sorrento? We had this problem whilst towing our Bailey Valencia up steep inclines whilst driving home from Spain.  The car didn't overheat but the temperature gauge rose to one mark under the
top of the gauge!  It has no problems in the Uk!

because it's generally cooler in the UK than Spain Wink

Are you on the limits for your car/caravan?Undecided I wouldn't have thought that your radiator is blocked yet on a 3 yr old car, maybe
there's a 'Hot Country' radiator switch available for our car that brings the electric rad fan on that bit earlier Undecided

Thanks very much for your replies.  Once I recognised the problem I did switch the air con off!  Honest!!  I have asked the local Kia dealer with no success.  His reply was basically, thats unusual you must be working the vehicle to hard.  I asked about
the coolant and the possibility of changing a thermostat!  He stated that they would do no alterations at all as it would invalidate the warranty.   Our Valencia is probably on or slightly over the Max weight (1575k) but the Kia automatic is suppossed to tow
2000k.  The vehicle is a superb tow car and we are very pleased with it.

Did you try opening the windows, putting the heater on the hottest temperature and the fan on full to help get rid of the heat?

Strengthening the coolant to raise the boiling point won't help as you still need to get rid of the heat.

Have you tried a laser thermometer to measure the temperature drop accross the radiator?

No one has pressure washed the radiator and flattend the cooling fins have they?

The caravan has a large surface area to pull through the air so there will be a fair bit of drag to factor in not just weight.

Could just be the combination of hills, heat and towing.
