Mercedes Benz C200 nose weight 75k.g. or 100 k.g.?
I am looking to change my car and have seen a 2013 Mercedes Benz C Class CDI BlueEfficiency Executive SE AUTO Estate that I quite fancy. In the caravan club tow car test they quote a max. Nose weight of 75 k.g. yet online there is a review of this car by
Practical caravan and they quote a nose weight of 100 k.g. does anybody know who is correct and does anybody tow with one of these cars. This car is not coming up in outfit matching.

Thanks for that my other choice is a VW Tiguan that seems to get good reviews and it does have a 100 k.g nose weight. I only have a small two berth but even with that 75k.g is to light.

Friend of mine tows a 1500kg van all over Europe with a Tiguan. Loves it.

I tow a 1400kg Bailey with a 2012 C220 Sport Estate Auto.
Noseweight is 75kg max. So if you tow anything bigger, the noseweight ratio drops below 5%It is generally not regardede as the most stable of platforms, but I have been suprised how well my C220 Sport tows my new van. The Sport is supposedly the better tug as the stiffer rear suspension really helps. There is a CC review of the softer sprung
model and they commented it did not instill confidence at speed. But my Sport is as stable as anything.
Just returned from a three week 1500 mile trip round Europe and it didn't put a foot wrong. It returned 33mpg average towing with one 360 mile stint returning 37mpg.
It is reliable, comfortable, quick, economical and relaxing, even towing. I am on my third. Considered chopping in for a BMW520 Touring, but I like my C220 too much.
I have put a review on Caravan Talk

Similar experience to Runrig..
We've got a 2013 C250 CDI AMG Sport Plus Estate with the 7G-Tronic box towing a 2013 Elddis Avante 462.
We've towed circa 9k+ miles over the last couple of years on 7/8 wk trips to Spain/France/Belgium/Germany/Austria & Italy plus short trips in the UK without any problems. Would agree that the rear suspension is 'hard' and the van does have a bit more of
a 'nose down' towing stance than some towcars we've had in the past. Fuel economy towing is good, 27 to 30mpg and considering the perforance it's excellent when solo, in the high 40's generally and mid 50's when on long motorway trips.Wish I could speak so highly about the Elddis van...but that's a completely different story..

...... Would agree that the rear suspension is 'hard' and .....
That'll be the AMG go-faster suspension It seems that just aout every Merc you see for sale has 'sports suspension ....
I want/like a car with suspension that soaks up the bumps in the road.0 -
My brothers C class has the AMG gizmos. Shakes the fillings out of your teeth. It is also surprisingly cramped.
