Kia Assist breakdown cover

We are looking to replace our tugger with a Sorento and we have looked at the 2 year free Assist cover.

The cover says it includes a caravan/trailer if it is fitted with 'a standard hitch and its length does not exceed 23 feet in length'

Our Affinity has a shipping length of 23.95 feet, so I phoned their customer services to clarify this and was informed that the car & trailer/caravan cannot exceed 23'.

Now as the Sorento is 15'4" (plus tow bar) alone that doesnt leave much for the caravan!

We expected the Assist would enable us to save out Green Flag fees.

So other Sorento owners who have Assist, be warned of its limitations.

Kia Assist is the RAC.  whatever the RAC rules are, KIA assist will normally abide by them

Thanks Kennine. I will take a look at their rules.

I was rather shocked when Kia said the total combined length of car & trailer could not exceed 23'.

You also need to find out if the recovery will be done if the problem is with the caravan. The RAC make this an add on so I assume Kia do not give this so Mayday may still be needed.

No Wildwood the RAC is not as comprehensive as Mayday so we will keep the Mayday going for the peace of mind.

I reduced my cover with green flag and saved £30. So i no longer have recovery with the caravan up to quarter a mile from home

Not a lot but i have Mazda breakdown cover for the car anyway.
