Head of the valleys road
Hello everyone, I am travelling from Tewkesbury to St David's in a couple of weeks and am unsure of the best route to take. In the past I have dropped down on to the M4 and taken the long way. Looking at my road atlas, theA 456 head of he valley road looks
a much more direct route. What is this road like for towing? Any comments are welcome. Thanks, Mick Rumble

The A40/A465 is fine, Mick. It's a decent A road.

I'll agree it's a very good road, very scenic in places and a lot of dual carriageway too, just pass Abergavenny there's roadworks and a long hill to climb it shouldn't cause a problem and you'll avoid all the snarl ups around the crossing and South Wales
area especially Newport to Cardiff.0 -
We used to live that way and transitted it lots of times with a big twin axle, no problem.

Towed it from Abergavenny to Neath a few weeks back. Very easy run. You get less hassle off other drivers too due to the average speed cameras
