Please can anyone help.

i am having a problem finding a suitable tow car to replace my aging and very reliable 1994 toyota previa 2.4 petrol automatic.

it has been very relaible and comfortable for the last 5 years of towing and hauling me, my wife and three growing children to cornwall and back each year.

the bad news is it only does around 20 mpg when towing and about the same on weekday trips to the shops and back.

i need a car to replace it that can tow a avondale pearle adonis 1994 4 berth and carry 2 x adults, 2 x 13 year old twins who are almost 6ft tall and an 9 year old who is having growth spurts and will soon join his brothers.

i am looking at replaceing the previa with a Fiat Doblo

i have been lookint the 1.9 JTD and the 1.9 Multijet diesel.

what is better the 1.9 JTD or the 1.9 Multijet ?

105 bhp or the 120 bhp.

your views and opinions would be greatly appreciated.

many thanks

is yours the 105bhp one. how does it tow on hills ? im going to look at a 57 plate doblo dynamic 1.9 multijet with the 120bhp engine at the weekend. any opinions on whether this will tow a 1000kg caravan with 2 adults and 3 big children on board ?

Yes,105bhp,no problems towing Ariva ,most stable outfit I have owned.  Only have two people in the car when towing though.Used to own the older version with the 120bhp engine   dont seem to miss the loss of 15bhp.
