High mileage on our current 3008 2 litre diesel is forcing a change.   We want to stick with the Peugeot but have found that a 2 litre version is no longer available. Our dealer is telling us that if we buy the latest 1.6 bluehdi 120 diesel engined version
we will notice no difference in towing capability.  Our current van is a 2010 Swift Charisma 230 2 berth but the arrival of 2 small grandchildren means we are thinking of changing to a compact 4 berth quite soon.  Does anyone tow with a 3008 or anyone have
opinions on towing with a 1.6 car.  We tow 3 or 4 times a year in this country and quite extensively in France in early summer.

What is high mileage to you? 50,000? hardly run-in, 100,000 - just getting into its stride, 150,000 - maturing nicely..... And, of course the dealer is going to say that..... personally the 1.6 sounds a bit underpowered to me.

No personal experience but my neighbour tows with a 1.6 3008. He bought the first one in Aug 2015 a 13 reg which he towed a 2 berth Lunar. On looking to change his caravan, the caravan dealer said the towing capacity was not suitable for towing at all. On
investigation, he was right. The Peugeot dealer had mis sold the car. They held their hands up and replaced the car with another 1.6 3008 which had a suitable towing capacity on the V5. So check the V5 before you buy.

Settermum thanks for your reply.  While Club Together was down we managed to source a 2 litre 3008 as we were not convinced by the dealer's advice. So we were pleased to receive your reply as further confirmation.  Pam
