Freelander 2 2.2
Just looking for a bit of advice. We have put a deposit down on a Freelander 2 2.2 GS TD4 automatic. We have only started towing last Autumn and were not happy with our current car, so we looked to upgrade to a 4x4. We are due to pick up the car this Thursday but now worry that we haven't made the right decision, budget wouldn't stretch to a Discovery!
Anyone with experience of this car??? We have a Bailey Pagaent Bretagne, series 6. 6 berth. Think the weight is 1475.
sorry about typo in title!

We tow a Bailey Unicorn Madrid with a Freelander 2 manual and it's done well for us, touch wood. Our van's about the same weight as yours. Just make sure that it's well balanced and not nose heavy.

Traded our Freelander for a Discovery Sport in Jan after over 5 years (probably around 18-20miles actual towing) first a Bailey Olympus and then a Unicorn 3 Vigo. Brilliant tow car and probably the most comfortable car we have owned for long journeys (and
that includes a Saab 9000 and two Mercedes E Class'). No hesitation in recommending.0 -
I have the Freelander SD4, although mine has more power you will be fine with the TD4. Comfy, stable and good torque. I'm on my third new one and this one's taken us across the water 2 years running now with another long trip in a few weeks time. My van
is a touch lighter than yours but you'll find it OK.0
