New to towing and caravan's rear car shock leaking
Just had MOT on my Xtype estate 2.2D Sovereign
I was Informed my car has a leaking rear shock absober it passed its MOT will this effect towing a 1450 caravan
I also had below fitted to car as has very soft suspension.

Collected Bailey Pagent Champage series 7 on 1st and towed it to storage it was empty and seemed fine at 50mph on dual carrigeway i did get a knocking sound when i went over a large bump but i dont no if that is normal

It's not going to help, either towing or not. Better to change both sooner rather than later (does just have two?Jags used to have two on each side)

Up until recently I towed with an x-type estate and found the suspension a bit soft ,so fitted new shocks and rubber coil spring assisters ,made it much better
molly ,it was the XJ series that had two each side , the X-type is mondeo based

Been serviced and maintained at jaguar since new and next car will be another jaguar

Whats wrong with using the local garage?
Usually much cheaper on the labour rates.
I see your point, but the difference in cost of labour between the two would be minimal & by going to Jaguar bajilettt ensures the correct shockers are fitted ..... that's my opinion anyway
Rear dampers/shockers are easy enough to fit so can't think labour would be too much anyway if you're paying someone else.
