Front Tow Bar - Great!

I recently had a front tow bar fitted to my Disco 3.  My drive is quite steep (1:4 in places) and pulling the van up is not a practical option.  I have managed to bring the van up with the mover, but think this is quite a strain for it and over time may
cause a premature failure.  Although at first I was a little anxious as to whether this solution would work I needn't have worried, it is very easy
to control.  My first attempt can be seen at  https://youtu.be/EOrnoOcGvNo.  I would recommend this to anyone with a similar issue.  Apologies in advance for video quality.

The sailing fraternity have been fitting front towballs for many years now. Ideal when launching boats down a narrow slipway.

I can see it being an advantage to the OP parking on a sloping drive  and also for the average caravanner shunting their van on to some of the tight pitches on some CC sites.

We have had front tow hooks fitted on most  of our tow vehicles, and not just 4x4s saves 30kg plus weight saving on c/van and much cheaper

Ive had a front towbar fixed to a couple of my towcars, absolutely brilliant, and yes saves weight of mover on caravan, i wouldnt have thought they did the battery much good either, typical scenario arrive caravan storage, park van with mover, leave for
a month with discharged battery before taking van out again, not good.
