We used to tow our lunar stellar (a little heavier) with the OH Ford Focus convertible, 2.0 petrol. Great fun with the roof down. A lighter van opens up a world of opportunities. You really need to be aware though of how you use the van l.e., do you van all year and use CLs or main sites etc.

I would follow the clubs towing advice. You take the MTPLM of the caravan and then look at the kerb weight of the car. If the caravan is 85% of the krb weight this is ideal. If you are exoerienced at towing 90% or abit more is permissable assuming you are
not exceeding the manufacturers towing limit. With the Ariva you have a huge number of potential tow cars so it is probably a case of looking for what suits you as an everyday car and checking its kerb weight and towing limit and if they are right buy it.

Your call MP but as I said before you need to consider how and when you use your van. Winter vanning, CL's without hardstandings = problems? We often van abroad and have stayed at campsites at 600mts + above sea level. Personally I would use the Sportage
and then the world of small cars is your oyster0 -

Write your comments here... thanks. A get the 85%. The torque howver on some cars is pretty low

High low down torque is preferable but I have towed that sort of weight with 1300 petrol engines when I had company cars and no choice on whar I got. Provided you know the limitations most cars will manage. With lighter tow cars though make sure they can
have a tow bar fitted as one or two do not.0
