Front fixed "Tow" bar
I have just seen an advert for a towbar fixed to the front of the car. The ad says "moving made easy" "See what you are doing and where you are going"
How can you see what is happening at the back of the caravan?

I had one on my Defender. It was great for just shifting the 'van around as you are pushing whilst facing the 'van. Made it easier to do than reversing, but a mover is easier still.

They are usually placed in front of the passenger seat, to give the driver as clear a view as possible. The driver/ maneouverer will have taken a good look behind the van, before pushing it into place. (Or at least those with common sense will have!) It
is how Jumbo jets are moved around on ground. Once used to doing it this way, said to be much easier. Makes a hell of a dint in shin bones though!0 -
Have one on our Discovery 3. Awesome for manouvering the caravan or trailer into tight spots. Much easier than mucking about with a motormover in many cases but adds a lot of weight to the car, even though ours is removable you still need to carry it with
you. Don't forget that adding any accessory to your car including towbars reduces the load capacity.Unless you do a lot of tight reversing with trailers, I woudn't bother.
