    If you use kerb weights as a guideline then you will need a 4x4 to tow anything. For instance an Isuzu DMAX can legally tow 3.5 ton yet the kerb weight is 1900kg?

    The figures that I get read, kerbweight 1580kg, max towload 1600kg, MTPLM of caravan 1493kg, so it doesn't appear to be heavier than the car.

    How new is it and is an Efficient Dynamics model?  If it's an Efficient Dynamics 320d it won't tow anything as my hubbie found it when we bought his!
