Today after a lot of thought i bit the bullet and went for a rempap  i was very sceptical how much difference it would make

What a transformation the power difference was unbelievable the fuel consumtion before the remap was saying 27.4  just took it up the motorway just one junction and back 35.5  .I have never got above 29mpg on a run (not towing)

Good to hear you are happy but be sure to tell your insurer or you may be left without cover.

Test the mpg brim to brim before you get too excited about the mpg. The remap often makes the mpg readout to be overly optimistic.

That did enter my head but I did ask the remap company that question and they said not BUT they would I suppose  .The main reason I went for it was with the van on the back any headwinds caused the auto box to keep changing down and was hoping this would
help and in turn must help the consumption I hope

It will give you more power, often in a smoother manner than the manufacturers did because it is now tuned specifically to the UK market & fuels, just don't trust the readout!

Mine shows 38 to 39 regularly, but it is usually actually doing 35mpg roughly.

Write your comments here...My standard car shows around 2.5mpg higher on the average read out than a brim to brim anyway. So is a retune going to increase that error?

It will partly depend on the quality of the remap software And how you use the increase in power and torque. If you use the performance benefits and hoon around at full tilt all the time then fuel usage will clearly increase. However if you drive sedately
and use the torque to hang on to higher gears for longer fuel usage should decrease. At the end of the day it is real world brim to brim economy that matters. Some mpg figures quoted on the forum are simply unbelievable.
