just wondered what members opinions are on this issue and how it will impact our pastime into the future, as emissions regulations become tighter

I currently drive a Kia Sorento KX2 and looking to change for probably last time before retirement for another towcar of similar size, my concern is that Vehicle duty will go up substantially over time pricing a lot of people out of this pastime ?

According to the news today, its diesel vehicles that the "latest problems" arise from, so instead of as in the past promoting them ,they are now the "problem", so it will be them that govenment will "target" to get more money with the "enviroment and health" as the excuseUndecided

Given the depreciation on my car and the amount of diesel that I put in it when I tow VED is the least of my problems. If you have a caravan there are certain expenses that you have to bear and an increase in VED plays only a very small part.

As i understand it this new regulation comes in next year think April. only new vehicles bought after this date are affected, i have recently bought a Volvo XC60 manual 2 litre diesel co2 emmisions are 117 first year zero road tax then £30 per year so if
you change before this date you should not be effected by increases.

I find the more recent VED rules 'strange' to say the very least. Your 2.0 diseasal, chucking out its PM10s (I've a diseasal too
Wink .... 3.0 Merc) is £30 whereas my 700cc petrol Smart is £120(?)
