Securing Caravan to Car

I haven't been on here for a couple of days, but I asked about the safety of towing with a hitchlock on because someone had advised to do so, and I believe I read a post on here many moons ago that said you shouldn't. I just wondered. We never tow with it
on, and have no reason to do so. Thanks for the replies, though0 -
just an idea we use in Germany:
this item you can use while towing, so the caravan could not be stolen during a pause an you can secure it on a campground. I dont know if it fits to used hooksystems in England

Danke!
Yes, that was what I was looking for and almost bought one on UK eBay last week but they appear to be designed for the modern Al-Ko stabiliser hitches rather than the 'Old' traditional Al-Ko hitch like ours here:

Does anyone have experience using this type of lock with the AK160 / 300 hitches? Is there something similar that is designed specifically for the traditional style?

We have this hitch lock not used it whilst towing though only takes 30 seconds to fit and is a good deterant in services and short stops.

Boggie, if you use an al-ko system, pls have a look to the website above. here you find hitches and security systems belonging togther. Using the previous caravan without stabiliser we used the small mortise lock. It also fits well and was usable while towing.

We also never leave it unattended. I think if we did we would have to fit the Al-ko wheel lock to comply with our insurance, or we could find ourselves not covered.
This applies to our insurance with the other club.
Have only ever stopped at services twice and both times I have put on the wheel clamp. It's not possible for us to go seperately.
