I am considering buying a new Mercedes GLC and was wondering if anyone has towed with one of these.

Any feedback would be useful.

I have had a GLC Sport 250d for around five weeks now have`nt towed with it as yet, very comfortable and quiet car, Have the Premium Pack and factory electrically deployable towbar with intergrated 13 pin socket, there is an option of air suspension.
The car has a reversing camera which has three selectable views including a tow hitch view making life easy. Nine speed torque converter auto which is in my opinion superior to the DSG box on the last car. Seats are good, heated and electrically adjustable
in all directions as is the steering. Hatch area should be large enough for most. A downside for some might be the lack of spare wheel, repair kit only and no well in boot to store one. However I really like the car very smooth supple suspension with a good
turning circle for its size, towing limit is 2500Kgs and 100Kgs on the towball. Plenty of technology to keep anyone amused Garmin Sat Nav is standard. Adblue tank has a graphic showing miles to go instead of just a final warning to refill, solo the car should
not require refill between services of 15000` or the usual year which ever soonest. If you have specific questions will be pleased to help.

The GLC accesories online brochure shows, both as images and text Tongue Out:

    1. 02  Emergency spare wheel. Ensures compliance with country-specific statutory requirements. The emergency spare wheel must be secured in place in the load

compartment in an emergency spare wheel bag. Item Number

      A253 400 0300

    2. 03  Emergency spare wheel bag | picture shows similar product. Designed to secure the emergency spare wheel in place on the floor of the load compartment.

      Item Number

      A000 585 1000

      There is a tow bar:

      1. 04  Trailer coupling. Fully automatic folding trailer coupling, specifically for Mercedes-Benz vehicles. High corrosion protection. Maximum drawbar load 60–100 kg2.  Part Number on request.

As it's in the accesory catalogue, not the options list on the car brochure, it'll be available. However, as I know from my S Klasse the price is probably 4x for an dealer fit.

The online accesories brochure is here:

        http://tools.mercedes-benz.co.uk/current/passenger-cars/pdfs/accessories-brochures/glc.pdf

A good MB dealer will be capable of sorting it for you at a price. Don't bother asking a salesman as they wouldn't have a clue Tongue Out

There is a towbar available, it's supplied to the line to fit there, can easiy be sent to the dealer instead, only a push of keys on a terminal Tongue Out

For anyone who is interested towed for 2286` on continent with GLC trip shows 33.2MPG for whole trip (only used car solo for about 100` caravan weight 1250Kgs) now have 5000` on clock so still room for improvement. Ad Blue usage has been negligible filled
at an Ad Blue Point whilst on continent cost 5.2Eur and am at about the same point as when the car was purchased new, towing does`nt seem to make much difference to consumption.

I have a Witter detachable tow bar and the fitter moved the tailgate censor so it still works , it also has a 140kg max nose weight, my caravan is nose heavy anyway but I manage to keep nose weight around 90kgs.
