Land Rover Spare Wheels

On a recent visit to my daughter in London, she had the misfortune to get a puncture on her Land Rover. Despite getting her garage to regularly check her tyre pressures, including the spare, some few days before the puncture, the breakdown people broke the
news that the spare wheel was missing . It was obvious from damage done that it had been stolen from it's carrier....When my daughter mentioned the theft to two other neighbours who had almost identical models to her own, they all checked their Land Rovers
and yes, their spare wheels were all missing as well. ...When was the last time you checked your outside stored spare wheel was still there.!!!!.

Yup - the LR main dealer I use Emailed around a year ago - didn't take up the offer as my D4 is normally garaged at night and during the day when not being used. Cost was something like £60/£70 ish give or take.

Sorry to read of your daughter's misfortune Scottie.  It's bad enough that these low lifes steal vehicles such as Land Rovers but I've heard that they are now taking spare wheels as well and, having had to replace one fairly recently, I can see that they'd
get a good price for them.

They can still beat the latest  Land Rover deterrant as the wire is still available to be cut- the best protector is by RLD http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic31159.html

Write your comments here..You were very lucky getting a replacement rim and  new tyre for £60 to £70 as I would have thought the rim would be about £50 and a tyre £80. Well done.
