Hi Steve
I have a 2012 Mondeo Business Edition and can't really fault it. Mine is the auto version and, like any auto, is a bit heavier on fuel compared with my previous 2010 manual version. I pull a 1350kg Lunar which it tows like a dream.
It is the little added extras that make it more like the Titanium range but without the chrome around the windows. It has several other auto refinements such as automatic main beam which switches between main and dipped beam depending on ambient light or
whether there are other cars around. Like many other cars it has auto lights and auto wipers. There is a built in sat nav and, in the centre console, is a USB port linked to the touch screen radio so things like MP3 players can be used and tracks selected
from the radio. The port can also be used to charge mobile phones etc.My only disappointment is that as, an edition, it has been discontinued so a replacement will have to be a Titanium if I want the same refinements In a Mondeo. Please note that it has a 90kg towball limit where the newer 2015 Mondeos are only 75kg but please
see my thread, "Who would you trust" further down the page for more about this problem. If you have any questions please get in touch.0 -

I go along with your thoughts as a tow car. It does everything I want. However I changed from a VW Passat and I'm afraid the Mondeo is not in the same class.

Harry, it was the salesman at our local Ford main dealer that told me that the Business Edition was not available for a 2015 vehicle. I didn't query this any further but it may be that he just wanted to sell me a Titanium.
Out of curiosity, what is the towball limit on your 2014 model? It is certainly shown as only 75kg on the spec for a 2015 model.

I am / was not a fleet or business and I bought My Business Edition at 3 months old from our local main dealer. It had been used by Ford themselves (not the dealer) presumably as a fleet car. From what I am told by a relative who works for Jaguar Land Rover,
car firms supply managers with a new car which they only keep for about three months. My relative is on this scheme. The car is then sold. It is, apparently, to keep a supply of good, low mileage used vehicles available to the public for those who cannot or
don't want to buy a brand new vehicle.0 -
Precisely my point. The car was defleeted and sold to you as the second owner. So, as I suggested the Business Edition appears NOT to be available as a new purchase to Joe public punters. They are pre-registered to keep sales targets and commission bonus's,
altruism has nothing to do with it. My ex was in new car sales for 10 years, my nephew used to sell cars and my best friends son sells Fords so I have a bit if an insight behind the salesmans fairy tales.0 -
flatcoat, I always buy cars a few months old and a few miles under the belt which is how I got my current Business Edition. It was the salesman who sold me this car that has just told me that Business Edition Mondeos are not available in the Zetec range,
only now in the Titanium range. Why should he tell me fairy tales? Looking on the www I can find pre 2015 Zetec Business Editions for sale and 2015 Titatanium Business Editions but no 2015 Zetecs. This perhaps confirms what the saleman is telling me.0
