Thule Lift V16 Winding Handle

I've just installed my new Thule Lift V16 bike rack on my motorhome. It looks great, but the winding handle is too long! If I hold it to the side, in a natural posture, it jumps out of the hook on the winding mechanism. I have to stoop down and hold it near
to vertical, which is a bit daft.

Dose anyone know of a solution - maybe a shorter handle? I've googled it but haven't found anything so far. Thule don't seem to do such a thing.

It's just a standard long pole, with a crank at one end and an open hook at the other.

Thanks,

Pete

From memory I think the instruction manual said cut it to length, I left mine as is. Your right though it's a little long.

BoleroBoy - I checked, but it definitely doesn't adjust.

H B - I think that's where you cut tghe upper arms to get the rack to fit, when you mount it. I thought about cutting the handle to length, but can't see a neat way of re-joining it. I've had various ideas, including a outer sleeve or an inner rod, but they
would both need securing, which would look quite clunky.
