Chausson Flash 10
Hello. I'm considering purchashing a Chausson Flash 10. Just wondered if anyone here has any advice regarding pros and cons? Thanks

roomy one-box design in a small footprint.
large washroom and shower.
reasonably sized drop down double.
storage, generally good for a small van.
don't know about overall quality of this model, Chausson interiors dont do it for me, although ive had a look at quite a few and the build in general is OK for the price, remember, these are at the budget end of the market.
some Chausson owners will be along to give more, im sure.
depending on your budget, a direct alternative might be the Pilote 600 LA in low profile or even as an A-class with double floor. a used A-class would be a lot of van for the money, and id take it over the Chausson.

a shade under 6m, and a used van with just over 1000 miles...save between £10k-£15....

Just coming to the end of our first season with a Chausson 610 and we are seriously impressed. Superbly comfortable mattress on the drop down, better build than any of our caravans. Hasn't had to go back for any warranty issues, although it was due to
go in with a noisy Dometic sunroof until I fixed it. Some protective film had been left around the lip of the sunroof, which produced a harmonic at certain wind speeds! Would we have another Chausson? At the moment yes0 -

We bought an Flash 06 new on a 10 plate and kept in for over 3 years. I would have definitely have bought a second one had they done the layout we wanted. We had no problems with it apart from the bottom edge of the habitation door rusting after 18 months.
It was changed without any trouble.It was a good value, comfortable van that served us well. Good luck with your purchase.

We too bought exactly the same as above new on same plate and had it for 5 years....it was comfortable with loads of storage and easy to get about in. Ours was on a Ducato and again had no problems in fact the one we have just upgraded too is also a Ducato
being so pleased with it. We found the Chausson had everything you need to hand our main gripe was that the heating controls were on the floor under the bed which were ( for us anyway ) a nuisance to use and see properly.....have noticed recently a lot more
Chaussons on sites too so a lot more out there than when we got ours.0 -

Late to the discussion. We're new to "motorhoming" and bought a Chausson 510 on the Ford engine (150BHP). We've been impressed with the spec inside the van, and are happy that the Ford engine has enough scope for all our needs.
Only con I can see is that if anyone is over 6' tall the drop down bed might leave a few bruises on their forehead - I'm 5'11" and it's fine.

I am parked next to one at the moment and the owner has been showing me where the attachement of the accomodation is comeing away from the cab. Its held on with rivets and the rivets are too few and too far in spacing, the van is 3 months old with 2000 on

I hate to think what they will say when he takes it back. 2000 miles in 3 months .. That's been over used. What do you expect. We managed just over 8000 miles in a year and our Dealer said that most people only do that in about 4 years.
The Ford Transit bit is not very secure and a number of MH's with Transit front ends have vanished. You can buy the lock picks on ebay and they recon it takes about 10 seconds to open the door. Once they know what the key is it's easy to cut a new one and come back later and program it using the onboard electronics and a pc.

We easily do 8000 miles a year in our M/H, just 2 trips to Spain a year clocks up 6000 miles. Gone are the days when folk bought M/H's and rarely used them, they cost far to much money to be sitting idle.
We don't have a Chausson but have looked at quite a few and liked what we saw.

I forgot about that bit ( me being 5ft) other half is 6ft3 and had to bend his head when stepping into seating area....and yes he did forget a couple of times

absolutely, TG...
some (caravanners and MHers) may be happy to put their vans away in 'storage' (i can hardly type the word its so sad....
) in September and
then not use them again till May, but Im not....no van can ever be 'overused' .....that's what they're for, arent they?
