Reverse/rear Camera with Bike rack and cover.
Hi All,
I was going to order a dual reverse rear view camera system this week for my Bailey Approach 745SE.
Today, I put two bikes on the Fiamma rear bike rack and looked at getting a cover sorted out for the bikes and saw an issue: The bike cover will obscure the reverse camera and possible the rear view camera to a degree.
What do others do about this?
Best I can think is to only use the cover at night for “security”. I know the cover can be cut off…but covered bikes “may” be walked past whereas bikes on show may attract attention.
The main idea for the cover was to keep them dry and clean.

I have altered my reversing camera to show more of the road behind as I travel so that I can see if another vehicle is close behind me. I find that my camera gives a distorted view rearwards on things which are close, like a fence for example. Margaret is my best reversing camera!!!

Can I borrow Margeret please?
OK, so adjustment is an option. Thanks David.

All the bike racks I have seen also obscure the rear window when bikes are loaded. I guess this is normal?

Not wrong there H, however ours is low enough that once the bikes are off, we can drop the top bar and open the window fully, with bike rack on we can open it about 5"

Could you add a bracket to extend the camera to see down past the cover?
There shouldn't be any need to go to that much trouble because its just needs moving up a knotch or two. Its not a bad idea to keep the top of the bike rack in view so that you know its still there and secure!!!

I thought about this. Have the camera so I can have it on the wall of the van...or move it foward somehow over the bikes.
May give that more thought.
Thanks!

I agree David, but I'm buying a dual camera system, so the rear view would already cover that I think.
I did think about making a rear box to cover the bikes and down over the number plate to store other items, but I think that's going overboard.
I'll get the camera ordered first.
