Hello,

I have a problem & am hoping someone can help. I took out insurance on my motorhome through the caravan club & now someone has reversed into the back of it whilst it was parked up. The bloke who hit it is a nice chap & fessed up. There is a fair amount of
damage to the rear moulding around the lights & I don't know if there is other damage I can't see (i.e. are there cracked seals on the panels allowing for water ingress etc). My problem is that the insurers have passed my number to Tor Trucks to do the repair.
On their website it says that they are a commercial vehicle repairers and it is full of pictures of lorries. I really want it checked & repaired by a motorhome repairer who knows what they are doing. Has anyone used a repairer in my area and were they any
good? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Liz

Thank you very much for you advice. I was feeling a bit lost, I thought because I had a motorhome policy that the insurance company would have some idea of what they are doing, but they want it repaired through a lorry repair centre they recommended and
when I said no just told me to sort out a quote myself! I just wanted it repaired by someone who knows motorhome,  so you have been very helpful. I will contact highbridge to see if they will quote, and have a look at the list. Thanks again

When we got hit on a Garage Forecourt the other parties Insurance Company arranged for the loan of a Transit Van and said we should use one of their recommended repairers. I asked if they were capable of repairing a 3m high 7.6m length MH. After a few phone calls they came back and said the garage workshop was not big enough and they didn't think it would go in the paint oven. At that point I found my own repairer. You really need someone who is a specialist as it needs to be put back exactly as it was built. Not fixed with a load of filler. It can take months to sort out. Ours took just over 3 months as we had to wait for the parts to come from Swift And they were on holiday when the order arrived so it never got processed. If it's going to take a while you could hire one you just have to tell the other side you need it. Hope all goes well. We used www.slautomotiveltd.co.uk and they collected and delivered it back to us. They made a fabulous job of the repair and you could not see.Where they had been. Also came back cleaner than it left.
