Motorhome build number

Our motorhome suffered recently from the effects of a flying stone and, in order to do the repair and match the decal, our dealer needs the build number. He says the number should be on a label somewhere in the van. We have searched but cannot find it.

We have a 2007 Chausson Welcome 85 – does anyone know where we might find this elusive number?

Sorry you've not had any replies. I can't help. You look like you may be new to CT and I don't want you to get the wrong impression. We are generally a helpful bunch on here and there's a wealth of knowledge too, hopefully your post has been overlooked.
Fingers crossed for you finding the plate ?.

Welcome to CT and our hobby.

Have you referred to your Bill of Sale the identifying numbers may well be on the paperwork - they are on mine. When we had Burstners the WBU number was on a small alloy plate to the bottom left of the habitation door. Then again your vehicle is from the land
of the" back to front gearbox" so the French may have placed it somewhere according to the rules of Gallic logic.Good luck.

My  V W  had  it  on  a  printed  "Sticky  Back  Plastic"  label  stuck  on  the  inside  of  the  lid  of  the  Glove  box !!  You  might  even  find  it  in  amongst  the  handbooks  for  fridges,  heaters,  etc  etc.

Sorry, can't help with your actual enquiry.  As has been said, if it's not on the original paperwork it could be anywhere or indeed nowhere.

However, I don't think finding the build number will necessarily solve the problem, as getting decals from the manufacturer is a notoriously hit-and-miss quest.

The good news is that there is a 'plan b' option that I'd suggest is probably the way to go.

Do a Google search on 'decals for caravans'. You'll get a couple results.  If you contact them with a good quality colour image of what you need (minus damage obviously), they should be able to sort you out far quicker and probably cheaper than waiting for
    the manufacturer.

    Hope you get it sorted.

We had a similar problem with our Chausson 718.  The habitation number is inside the engine bay on the left as you you look at the van from the front.  From that number Chausson can provide the paint number.

Our Chausson 610 Welcome has the builders plate ("Triango") just inside the engine compartment, to the right of the Fiat plate.
