Our first trip in our M/home

Well, last day of our 5day first trip in our M/home to the east coast, and have to say we have really enjoyed it. A bit fraught Sat and Sun with two eager grandkids wanting all our attention, so difficult to juggle trying to get used to our new mobile home,
and sort the grandkids out as well. Our daughter picked them up on Monday, so we could relax and get used to our new surroundings. Only problems we encountered were the Truma Ultraheat worked great Sat and Sun, but for some reason was blowing cold air on Tueasday.
I thought maybe it had overheated and shut down to avoid damage. I was trying to find a reset button, but to no avail. In the end I decided to shut the system off overnight, and lo and behold when I switched it back on this morning it worked. Can only assume
it has an automatic reset when closed down. The other problem encounterd was the grey waste tank outlet pipe has a large internally threaded coupling on it, and the grey pipe I bought for it was useless. Looking at online forums for some answers, it seems
people think it is a 1" threaded pipe, so I need to source the adaptor for that to couple my waste pipe to. All in all a good trip, with terrific weather yesterday and today. No doubt we"ll get there.

We also did our first trip (this last weekend). We also couldn't get the Truma to work but it was OK on gas, not on electric. In the handover the dealer neglected to mention that there was an isolator (aka - "on switch) at the back of the wardrobe. I must
have spent an hour reading the manual and decoding the fault - no 240 volts. Well, there wouldn't be would there!

There were a bunch of other "faults" which turned out to be "user error" (being polite) although they couldn't fix the reversing camera so I am taking the motorhome to the Autosleepers factory so that they can cut a 4 inch inspection panel in the back wall
inside a kitchen cupboard. I don't think that's user error!

It's so exciting venturing out on your first MH trip.  When we returned to motorhoming in 2011, I couldn't get over how the technology had changed since I first owned one back in 1981.  Our latest MH has so many gadgets and gizmos that it has taken me 5
years to master how to use them and I still get the occasional surprise.

    Enjoy your new toys !

triky, as long as you document your 'snags' and send a copy to your dealer service team (was it Southdowns you got it...??...if so, Andy is pretty helpful there...) then you will be able to come back to them after the warranty date.....

Just an update on our Truma Ultraheat problem we encountered. Although the heater works fine on gas, when on leccy it worked fine until the room temp was nice and warm, then the air from the blowers gradually got cooler and cooler, I couldn't figure out
why this was. The temp gauge was set to about 8 on a 1-9 range, so don't know if that is normal, or maybe it has a dodgy thermostat.

Assuming its the model in this link you might want to investigate the location of the thermostat. If its too close to the heat source it could be giving a false reading. I think you can get a replacement thermostat with a longer lead which should resolve the issue.
