Autocruise step

Readying the van (Starsprit) for the forthcoming easter break and the van wouldn't start.

To cut a long story short breakdown recovery jump started the van and I drove to our local Halfords.

The battery was tested and a replacement was deemed necessary.

The problem now is that the electric step will only work with the engine running, Also the control panel shows 0 volts for the engine battery unless the engine is running.

Can changing the battery affect these things or is there a problem with the control panel.

All advice gratefully recieved.

    Is  your  Leisure  Battery  ok  ??  Do  the  lights  etc  work  ?

    I  ask  this  'cos  my  Step  is  powered  by  that,  not  the  starter  battery.

    Check the leisure battery voltage,the engine should charge both

    Thanks for the replies.

    Up until the replacement engine battery the step worked off the leisure battery and now it doesn't. All other electrics appear to still work off the leisure battery.

    With "jump" starting the van ,has a fuse blown??? on that circuit

    Does the step out alarm go off if you start the engine could be as HD says, a fuse

    Hi Mike and Co 

    I am a bit late reading about your problem due to being a new member, but i have the same problem , i own a 2007 Autocruise Starlet 2 and since replacing the engine battery , i have the same problem as you regarding step has stopped working and no engine
    voltage showing on the cotrol panel , i am hoping you could advise to what the problem was on your van , its very likely to be the same on mine
