How old is your van ? The warning on ours says rear door open, i.e. it does not differentiate between the sliding side door and the twin rear doors.

I am soon to get a Sevel based panel van conversion,  (Citroën, puegeot, Fiat) and am hoping that the warning buzzers can be switched off with the Menu facility ,just to the right of the steering column. My coachbuilt allows DRL, to be switched off and other
necessary adjustments.I am hoping to sit with the side door open in hot weather, and don't  want a stupid buzzer going off all the time.

Hey we're every caravanners best mate with that famous whirr clunk of the sliding door!!

Brianandsue, how old is your van? Had an older one on site last year that the door wouldn't shut properly, it took a while to sort but you can adjust the top runners to make it slam easier. Could be it's not "going home" 100%, you could just disconnect the
    buzzer?

Ray, don't worry about buzzer, as you say easily turned off. We always sit with the side and back door swide open when it's nice, no problems.

The fun part is trying to shut it first time from the inside just before bed time, and all the looks you get in the morning from your neighbours if you had several goes!! I've made up a handle to pull on to achieve a decent slam, and so far it works fine.

Perhaps you need an airline cabin crew course. Wink

Hi, The van is a 2012, if I lean on the door the warning light goes out, so I may try to see if I can move the contacts closer together !

Hi Jollykernow. Is that correct that the buzer can be turned off ? that would solve the problem. "How do I do that "?

That suggests to me that either the switch is goosed, needs adjusting (doubtful it has provision) or the door itself might be adjustable Undecided

Write your comments here...on my 2012 coach built sevel,  there is a  Menu, to allow you to change certain parameters, DRL switched  on or off ,excetera. Buttons just to the right of the steering column. Perhaps ?you can switch the door buzzers off there.
I would still disable them, one way or another.

My  12  reg  Fiat  only  bleats  &  says  'Door  Open'  when  the  ignition  is  on

If  I  remember  correctly  my  '04'  Citroen  was  the  same.

This  is  because  it  is  not  advisable  to  motor  with  these  doors  open  according  to  manufacturers  anyway.

Sorry if I didn't make it clear. The system treats all doors except the cab doors as "rear" doors. So you can't tell from the cab indication alone if its the twin doors at the back or the side door.

Try the Fiat Forum .. The body computer controls the doors on Fiat / Citroen vehicles. The sensor for the door is built into the catch on the door. Opinion seems to be that you have to adjust the door rather than the sensor. Once the door closes properly the sensor will work correctly. Not much point in trying to turn the sensor off as they do put them on for a reason.
