Auto trail truma help!!!!!
hi all
wondered if anyone could provide any help with the following.
been out to MH to check things over for a planned trip and have no heating!!!
I have the trauma combi fitted and the are no lights (LEDs) coming on the 2 control knobs.
ive checked all the fuses (although none of them state there for the heater) and they seem to fine.
ive also checked the fuse on the boiler itself and again fine.
any ideas would be appreciated.
cheers

there is a very similar thread running on MMM...which looks like you....
.without complicating this, i think we have deduced that you (probably) arent getting any 12v at the boiler.....or at the control panel....as you cant get any 'lights' lit despite trying on gas only...which i think you tried.....
have a go with a multi meter to check at the boiler....i thnk you had a fuse blow here didnt you....?

are the rest of the control panel functions working....ie water levels etc.....?
sometimes the control panel can be rebooted by unplugging the white (i think) multi pin adaptor....

Hi all
ill try and answer all
firstly yes I've asked the same question on another forum. Apologies if this is not the 'done thing' I'm relatively new to MHing and though someone else may have come up against this issue.
secondly all the fuses have been checked are fine.
thirdly all other items on main control board are working fine.
Also fuse on actual boiler if fine too and no didn't have a fuse blown here.
again I do appreciate you all taking the time to try and help

ok, you found the tiny 3a fuse under the plastic housing on the top of the combi?.....well done...
no, posting an issue on multiple forums is fine, i just didnt want to go over old ground.
this unit should be able to run on gas-only with no 240v supply, so the Sargent PSU shouldnt be required.....however, a 12v supply is required to illuminate the controls, power the PCB and drive the fan....
as youre not getting the illumination (which would still show, even in an error situation) then i can only think of two things....
one, ensure that 12v is getting to the unit by checking with a meter (even though youve already checked fuses) as there may be a hidden break in a cable somewhere.
two, the PCB is dead.....

...or as Derek has said on the other thread....could be a mouse chewed through the cable, all the LED lights have blown......
his last clause sums up where ypu probably are.....
"If the heater is receiving 12V and no LEDs are illuminating when you play about with its controls, then the problem lies with the heater. If the heater is not receiving 12V, then you’ll need to find out why that is."
so, having eliminated the (fairly) obvious, its probably time to find out for sure if 12v is reaching the heater....or not.
if so, im sure a local dealer would allow you to swap a pcb for testing purposes?
if not, then a bit of dilligent use of tha multimeter to find the break in current, i guess...?
good luck.
