What's this for?

To the right of my steering wheel and slightly down on the dash front there is a black elongated 'knob' in a circular housing (4cm diameter approx) which appears to turn through 180 degrees. There is no reference to this in the 2014/15 Fiat Ducato handbook,
does anyone know what it might be?

No, tried those, doesn't seem to adjust either the headlamps or dash illumination. Could it be not working or just something else? It has no markings such as max-min on it! Would be good to post a photo but can't do thisFrown!

Hadn't thought of that, will check next time I go up to storage! Just seems very strange that nothing like it is in the handbook

Thanks all, its a brand new van and I'm still finding novel things about it. I'd not noticed this 'switch' before until last week, couldn't find anything related to it in the fiat handbook, then forgot about it but just saw it again when putting it into storage, it will be there for the next month (Away to sunnier climes abroad and stays with family)! Will pick up the mystery on my return. Thanks again to all on the case!

Perhaps it is the temp. control for the cab heater.

If it's a Fiat part, then it should appear on the dashboard diagrams in your manual. Otherwise it's likely to be some after fit dial and you will probably have to ask whoever you bought it from.

Is it the MENU System for setting Date and Time. Mine is in that area. Few other features as well can be selected like Daylight Running Lights On / Off .

Took me about 1/2 hour to work out where the bonnet release was situated. Open the passenger door Smile

Just  had  a  "Light  Bulb  Moment"  Laughing

Could  this  T-shaped   180* rotating  Thingummy  possibly  be  the  release  for  the  steering  column  adjustment  by  any  chance  ??

Not  for  the  rake  i.e.  up  &  down  but  for  longer  or  shorter  as  in  pust  the  wheel  away  if  you  have  long  arms  or  pull  it  closer  if  they  are  on  the  short  side  .

Think  thats  at  the  front  end  of  the  door  mounted  arm  rests

A  lot  of  this  problem  seems  to  arise  from  a  "Hand Book"  still  designed  for  the  Left  Hand  Drive  vehicles

Perhaps you could post a picture to help identify it.
