I bought a 24 year old Talbot Express last summer.  I love it, but it does need some work.  I am totally not mechanically minded and need to get someone to do some work on it, ie looking at the electrics and replacing the gas heater.  Can anyone recommend
somewhere in the Southampton / New Forest area who is reliable and trustworthy?

There's also Avonbridge who are based in Fordingbridge. Have an ad in the back of the CC magazine

A Talbot Express based van was the first new van that I bought and it proved very reliable.  Main problems were the horrible floppy gearstick and it's lack of power.

For work on your van, you might try Marquis at Lower Upham  or Hants&Dorset at Purbrook.

Hants & Dorset have been gone for quite a few years now. Lots of posh 'executive' house now.

Thanks for that snippit Cyberyacht.  It's 10 years since I left the area - when Gales brewery closed!!  It's now yuppy apartments too.

Most of the dealers (and where I bought my previous van)  were in around the Poole / Wareham area.  Don't know how many of them are still left.
