Easy to make up bed suggestions please
We've had our Autosleeper Ravenna for about 5 years, but as we're not getting any younger, we're finding the chore of humpihg things around to turn the lounge into a double bed an increasing struggle. We don't want a fixed double bed, as we think that this would waste space. What we're hoping for is a layout which will allow the existing furniture to be turned into two single beds with minimum effort. We can't afford a new motorhome, but could possibly afford something around 5 years old. Any suggestions please?

I cannot advise on models but I would be looking for one which has two parallel 6ft settees which I could simply throw a Duvalay on. Best place to look at a wide range of used vehicles is the outdoor motorhome shows. I think the next one is usually held at the Shepton Mallet showground with the Peterborough National to follow in April.

Not quite what you asked for but we have a side dinette that makes into a double bed by pulling out slats inbetween the dinette seats and adding the back of long bench seat from opposite, filling the gaps with cushions, we put single mattress toppers on
and a duvet, we find it works great. The long bench then becomes a single bed, so you could still sleep separately if you wished. I would imagine you do need to remove the bench back to make for a comfy night's sleep but in place its very good for forty
winks . We find it is the best of both worlds as we wouldn't want a fixed bed. Duvet, pillows and mattress toppers live on the overcab bed
- we find this to closed in (can't spell the proper word this morning ) and find it great for this sort of storage. Hope you
find a solution that isn't too much work.0 -
I think you’re looking for something like an AS Broadway (EK TB LP). It has the ‘railway carriage’ seating arrangement that peedee describes. The singles can be set up very quickly or even made into a huge double. There are several vans that offer this practical
arrangement. Good luck in your hunt.0 -
Bailey 625, we have one. It has 2 6ft long parallel settees, rear lounge, side galley with bathroom opposite, front cab seats do swivel. We just remove the seat backs pop them onto the cab seats, roll out our memory foam toppers (covered) we don't use sheets
that way, then pop on the pillows and duvets. Takes us about 3 minutes to make and unmake the beds, nice and comfy and you can make them up into a big double if you wish. Ours is a 625SE its 3 years old now, so you should be seeing some come onto the second
hand market if you don't want to buy new.0 -

foam seating stands up to constant use. I see the OP already has an Autosleeper (we've had two) hope it won't be too difficult to find a make and design that suits.0
