Help needed in what additive to put into the toilet header. 

We have tried Elsan Blue, pink and the stuff in the green bottle. Have been told that the blue liquid can destroy the seals on the toilet. The liquid we're using at the moment says on the bottle can be used in the header for the flush and can be put direct
onto the waste cassette. It's meant  to be environmental friendly.

The pink liquid smells horrible to me and does not work as well as the Blue liquid. 

Any comments would be Appreciated.

my wife goggled it and it came up with all sorts of weird things including fabric conditioner.

    Blue goes direct into tank which breaks up most things and pink is used in the tank as a flush to reduce the smell from the cassette. You don't need much of either as they are concentrated

    We prefer organic if we use commercial solutions, because there is little or no smell. However after reading and following a thread on here we use Lidl bio washing pods, yes the ones for doing your laundry. Great results much cheaper. We don't have a flush
    tank it comes direct from the water tank so plain water for us. Others do use fabric conditioner.

    Definately blue in the bottom tank, or green if you prefer.  There are also other brands which may have a different colour.

    Or of course the bio pods referred to above.

    For the flush tank only pink, or whatever colour of other brand, but unless it says it can be used in the flush tank too, you would not use the same as in the bottom tank.  Certainly not the blue Elsan or Aquachem, you dont want those flushing over your seals.

    Fabric conditioner can be used in the flush tank or some weak disinfectant, but it is also OK to use just plain water.  Less to carry and much cheaper!

    Not money saving as it does cost more.......but the blue or green soluble sachets are light to carry and very easy to use, just drop one in through the open seal once the holding tank is back in place.

    Thetford, Elsan and Dometic all do them, we found Dometic are cheapest but have not tried them out yet as we are using up an open Elsan tub.

    Bio tabs for us too. We use the cheapest disinfectant we can find in the flush. So so much cheaper,.

    Always used Elsan blue for the poo and pink for the stink

    Hi rob.  Now use bio pods in the cassette as they break things down much better. (No clingons) Fabric conditioner in the flush tank in the same dilution as you would pink. It has a very strong perfume and is ideal for the job. A spray of zoflora also keeps everything smelling sweet .

    Lidl green laundry pods in the cassette for the last year. With a cap full of "linen fresh" Zoflora in the flush tank, or plain water.

    Does it for me, perfect.

    No longer worry about poo and stink, so won't be going back to Blue and Pink

    We find the pink stuff seems to produce black bits in the water so never use it, The blue goes in the tank and we use the stuff on offer at Aldi from time to time. I know a lot of people use bio tabs but they are completely different things and I have seen
    no evidence of them working and have no idea if they actually do.

    We used to use the pink stuff in the flush tank, but always got black bits in the bowl at the start of each new trip (even though the tank was emptied out).  Stopped using the pink stuff completely.  No more black bits, and no noticeable smell as a result.

    RobBev.......don't use the blue or green liquids in the header / flush tank, as you appear to say you have done......they are designed to go in the waste tank.

    Bio tabs in the cassette and Zoflora in the rinse......much much cheaper and way more pleasant on the nose !

    i too was skeptical about bio-tabs but started using them early this year and very impressed, the pink fluid does cause the black gunge so will be trying fabric conditioner next year and my dealer service manager agrees with me
