Hi gang, just having my first problem in 4 years with my Bailey Valencia Mk1. Van was working fine up to leaving the Norfolk coast on Sunday. Arrived back at storage - couldn't set alarm. Returned to problem today and found that there is no power to the
main panel when you switch the 'master' on. Fuses checked- even RCDs checked - nothing wrong. Does anyone know if there are any in line fuses I may have missed? I have been behind the main panel and can't see any and checked that all was tight and well connected.
It's obviously on the 12v line as the inverter is working fine and I can use the microwave etc so it ain't that. So not being able to set the alarm has to be connected with the fact that there is no power to the main panel ?? Any ideas??

Hi Merve, Have you checked the wiring diagram in the handbook for inline fuses ? That's the first place I would start.

Hi lesbunny. Yes, that's a fine idea and I had thought of doing it when I have 5 mins. It has to be something annoyingly simple. Yes, I'll have my nose in it today sometime. Thanks mate.

Hi Merve, most caravans have an in line fuse in or just outside the battery box, if you have no 12v its possibly this that has blown.

Don't forget the relay that protect the 12 volt circuit from high voltages when on tow.

similar problem with my van. there should be an in line fuze between battery box and control panel. usually under front seat where lead enters from box. 20 amp fuze on mine.

Same van, same problem! Under the double bed there is a connector in the cable between the battery and the control panel.  It had worked loose.

Write your comments here...Hi guys! Hitch, that's amazing as I had been to the van this afternoon and guess what? Yes, you're right- I found the connector had parted company! Put it back together and bingo - all working and even the alarm company rang me back to inform me that power had been restored to the tracker etc. The one thing I don't understand though is how? I mean it's not like the plug is slopping about or in a place where it could be pulled by me or the OH! Is it just those years of bouncing and vibration? I guess it must be. To find your message hitch is quite spooky- particularly when I had found exactly the same thing. Bailey need to use a plug with a snap anchor on the side to prevent this happening. Anyway guys, thanks so much for your help and guidance. It has been really helpful. I knew it was something simple but perhaps not as simple as that!! Thank you!!

Glad I could help. I figured that it was the vibration over a period of time. Had me baffled for a while and we struggled in France for a few days!

.....- I found the connector had parted company! ....

Is it possible to use a small cable/zip tie to hold the connector together preventing it from happening again? Undecided

Write your comments here...yes, I was lucky - at least our break was trouble free but I knew it had to be something simple. I returned to the van with my new Cree LED head torch and a decent pair of glasses so I could see what I was doing. Makes all the
difference! You live and learn but it's nice to have the experience of others. Thanks again hitch.

Write your comments here...yes that was the first thing I thought of Paul but I haven't long changed it and the LED was illuminating so I suspected something deeper than that- just goes to show that when you need help, CT is the place to ask for it!

Merve,  rather  than  Zip ties,  if  you  have  a  little  room  I  use  the  small  Velcro  straps  as  used  to  hold  plants  to  trellis  etc.

They  are  very  easily  removable/replaceable  should  the  need  arise,  but  will  hold  as  tight  as  you  can  pull  !
