We have a 10yr old Stering Vitesse, A light bulb needs replacing, how do we do it? How do we remove the domed glass cover?

Sterling Vitesse caravan handbook might be available online, if you don't have one?

Is it a plastic cover with a plastic or metal "ring" round it near the ceiling?

If so is there a small slot in the cover beside the ring?

If so, you put a flat head screwdriver in the slot and gently twist it to pop the cover off.

    Takethedogalong,

Hi we do have a handbook but there is nothing in it to tell us how to actually change a bulb

I know it's virtually impossible to post a picture on this gas powered site ..... but maybe a link to one on eBay perhaps would give us a better idea of what light fitting you have.

We had these dome fittings in our previous Sterling, but they were plastic.

A glass ceiling fitting is unusual.

If they are glass, we have similar ones in our house, you turn them to release them from the base plate.

We had a Stirling with plastic domes too. The bulbs were halogen and the dome fitted with nearly 1cm gap between it and the ceiling, presumably for cooling. The dome was held up with three legs which were part of the moulding. Each leg had a small step in the end which clipped onto the body of the light fitting Find a leg, viewed through the gap and gently push it inwards. Once free the others will unclip easily. I hope!
