Fridge won't work on gas

I have had the Signature 15/2 since 2011, and the frdge works well on 12v and 240v;  it lights up on gas, but as soon as the button is released, the light goes out.  My service expert called, diagnosed a faulty thermocouple, fitted a new one and
told me all was well,  It wasn't, and seems it never will be.  So far, a new gas valve (150 quid) 2 new thermocouples and a new gas jet have been fitted, and it still refuses to stay alight.  Is it an easy job to remove the whole fridge to get a repair?

I don't know your specific fridge, but they're normally held in by a couple of screws on each side around where the door sits. Obviously you need access to the gas connection at the back, often via the vents

    Therons,

Had the same problem on my dometic fridge. Dealers wanted £150 for new gas valve. I replaced the thermocouple, a mistake costping me £35. I then bypassed the 3 way switch with a bit of wire, two black wires going from the switch to the gas valve. The gas
stayed on, so it turned out to be a faulty 3 way switch. New switch cost £65, easy to fit yourself. Problem solved. To access the fridge you will need to slide it out a little. 4 screws inside holding it in place. The sink is above my fridge, so removing this
    first helped. Good luck.

Write your comments here...Yes, I have experienced the same due to poor contact in the selector switch.  The thermocouple current is very small and a slight reistance in the switch is enough to prevent the valve holding. Fortunately I was able to clear the
problem by working the switch back-and-forth several times.

No way would you have caught me paying £65 for a replacement switch though Laughing
