My oven door fell off
i can't work out how to put it back on. I can see at the hinge side there's a little metal spike at the top and one at the bottom. The door has corresponding holes and I need to get both spikes in both holes.
But I can't do it, I can only do one at a time. I get the top one in but then the bottom one is sticking up too high to be able to get it in the hole if that makes sense?
oh and I have two washers which fell onto the floor when it happened but no nuts, are there's supposed to be nuts? Am I going to have to take the oven apart to get the door back on?

Does your Oven open side to side Pippah ??
Mine have only ever opened "Top to Bottom"
There must be some slack or movement in the mountings or the door would not have come adift.
So One washer sits on the lower 'pin' and one sits on the upper -- these washers or shims are designed to take up any slack & to allow movement without excess wear.
The 'pins are normally on a piece of steel which is screwed to the frame of the oven or whatever. its possible that one of the fixing screws has come adrift, allowing the 'pin' to move excessively. Just a case of
trial & error I'm afraid.Brian

Ours fell off as well and had similar issues getting it back in.
Through trial and error, I discovered that there was a clip on door hinge which you could hold the pins at the "open" position. The door could then be inserted and the clip released to hold door in place
Apologies appreciate that is terrible description but it was straightforward once you know

Caravan and domestic oven doors are designed to unclip, to facilitate cleaning, it's not a fault. Interestingly kitchen cupboards will also unclip without undoing screws. But how? Ahhhhhh that's knowledge held by professional oven cleaners. I've never tried,
preferring to pay a modest fee for avoiding a horrible job at home. And they can do a wonderful job too.0 -
Door opens side to side.
The pins don't appear to move at all. Will have to go and have another play amd see what I can do!

You say one pin is longer than the other, the hinge loop goes over that one first as a locator and the other hinge will just fall in line to the other. The door needs to be open as wide as possible and they don't use nuts to secure just a washer on each one .
