Vin chip location

Hi I'm a newbie to caravanning and have just bought a used 2006 Hymer 435ls  I was persuaded to buy a vin chip security pack for my caravan and installed it yesterday! The only problem I have is the rfid chip itself, where can you put it so it can be read
from 12" outside the caravan by the police with a scanner unimpeded by metal,!!?? My caravan is an aluminium box on wheels....or not?????

    Are you sure the caravan doesn't already have one?

    Standard on a Bailey.

    Has Your caravan got a 'plastic' area on the front with a gas locker? You could fix it inside there if it has.

    Bond it in a place tucked away inside the front locker, so that you have to get your head right inside to see it.

    Thanks ABI Pete and jennyc for your help. It confused me when the instructions said "inside"the caravan lol
