Gas cowl removal
I have a Lunar Quasar 534 year 2012 , The problem i have is non movement of cover, the handbook says to press both fingers together at the top and pull, even the picture is not the same as cowl fitted, mine has two small slots at top and what looks like
a pull shape on the bottom.
any advice gratefully recieved

Yep so did I MM on the swift that we had. Don't recall it being ever removed by me though ......... or yes once over Christmas when we had a power cut
I rarely used mine on gas either, but it's best to use it on gas every now & then .... use it or lose it

The design of the tool gives a clue how to remove it without a tool. It has a slot to grip the bottom of the cowl and donut to rest on the cowl
It is a knack, what I did once I worked it out which wasn't straight away.
Anyway my method
Place one hand on top of the cowl
Other hand fingers pointing downward grip the bottom of the cowl. Have the heel of your hand resting on the cowl.
When you remove it, push down with your top hand and pull with your bottom hand so that the heel of the hand presses the cowl bit hard to explain but I guess the action is to pivot the hand by the wrist, rather than pulling with your arm.
Try it and it should work and becomes easy and automatic and therefore difficult to explain
