Lunar 2016 front trim falling off in hot weather

During the high heat of last week we had an issue with the glue holding the black trim below the front windows melting on our new Lunar Lexon (2016). The offside end sagged by over an inch such that it wasn't possible to open the front locker.

Interestingly we were on a CL site and by co-incidence there were two new Lunar Clubman 2016 also on site. Both of these were also affected although not as badly as ours and on both of them it was also the offside end.

Anyone else experienced this?

(I suggest any owners of 2016 Lunar models take a careful look at the front of their caravans to see if the gap between the windows and the trim is the same all along)

I have not come accross the problem but would assume the reason all three had the problem at the same spot is they were facing the same way and got the sun in the same place.

Had to have my front windows replaced under warranty, fitted the new type shorter windows with the trim underneath, been on now nearly 12 months with no problem. Will keep an eye on it though.

Mine was facing WSW and took the full heat of the sun. One of the others was facing NNE (that was the one least affected) and the other E so the ambient temperature is a significant factor. We wondered how someone going to France or Spain would fare!

Yep, mine has gone too. Offside and just the last few inches of the length. I have had a good look and am wondering if the trim has distorted.

Its booked in at the dealers in a couple of weeks for the dealers, and myself, to decide what to do with the fixed island bed (3 month old clubman si) the bed appears to have more side to side movement than I would have expected and if there is no weight
on the bed it flys up in transport. Apart from a couple of very, very minor things and the usual poor delivery service that we all have come to expect from caravan manufacturers these days the wife and I are very pleased.

We have a 2014 Lunar with the black strip under the windows. We have been down the wesyt coast of France last summer with no ill effects. Perhaps Lunar have changed the sticky tape they use?

Just checked after the past couple of weeks in the full sun outside the house but again no movement.

Just picked the caravan up from having the warranty issues addressed. Ours was the
7th 2016 Lunar that they've had to re-fix the trim above the front locker (and that's jsut one dealership). Obviously a production issue with the 2016 models!
