Worktop

Hi I need some advice on sourcing a new work top for my 2007 abbey spectrum. The area where the tap locates has become spongy due I believe to a long term leak from the tap. This only came to light when the tap decided to spray water out of everywhere but
the spout. I purchased a new tap and on fitting the work top started to collapse and the tap will not stay still. Is it possible to replace the work top and if so is it a job I can do myself or does it require a professional. Any advice would be gratefully
received.

I would have a look underneath the top to see how it is fitted. If it is screwed on or glued it should be straightforward for anyone able to measure and cut out the sink opening. It really depends on your diy skill.

It will be easily replaced with som DIY skills, but even paying a kitchen fitter to do the job will be a fraction of the cost for a spare from Swift. I priced the little drop down part on the side at £85 +VAT and a new countertop opposite the sink @ £105
    +VAT

Hi both thanks for your help. I have fitted worktops in my own kitchen so I shall have a look and go for it. Just have to source the worktop. I have to admit it always amazes me how much they charge for spares.

Sourcing the same worktop will be the problem.

You may find it sensible to settle for a "similar" one,
