Water heater problem
We have a Truma water heater fitted in our caravan. When we switched it on yesterday we heard it click on then 30 seconds later it clicked off, its not working. It was fine last week when we were away. We have changed the fuse, switched the mains off for
30 minutes and there's plenty of water in the system. I have read about a reset switch but can't locate one on my system. We're due to go to Ireland tomorrow and don't have time to take it to be looked at. Any ideas please.

Thank you for your replies. It is an Ultrastore Rapid if that makes sense. I can't slide the lid off but it appears to be working although it was switched off at the panel. We have hot water! Not sure if it is gas powered now perhaps , how would we know?

You may be able to hear Burner from insde the Van if not - Turn Off Gas Supply - open a Hot Tap and drain water untill Cold - turn Off tap - Turn Gas Back On - go outside to where Exhaust Outlet is situated - you should be able to hear Burner and feel Exhaust Gas Heat if the burner has Ignighted.
What are Control Panel lights showing?

Thank you all for your help. We have taken the cover off as we're worried about gassing ourselves! It only has one control ValDa which is why we don't know whether it is working on gas. We're moving on tomorrow so will try your suggestions out at the next

As you say your Heater has only one control, I think you may have the Ultrastore Rapid GE fitted in your Van.
You may wish to download this - http://www.truma.com/downloadcenter/ultrastore_rapid_installation_instruction.pdf
It includes the operating instructions and a note that - If the cowl is positioned vertically below an opening part of a window, the water heater must be fitted with an automatic shut-off device to prevent operation when the window is open.
Hope this is of Help.

You won't gas yourself. The gas heating assembly is sealed from the caravan, and a thermocouple prevents gas escaping when the flame isn't lit. Many people use gas safely to heat their water off EHU. In the longer term, it sounds like your electric element
is faulty, causing the safety trip to cut out.0
