I am looking to replace my caravan tyres on my 2011 swift freestyle my current tyres are Hankook RA08 175R14C 99/98Q Ply8 I am told the RA08 is no longer available and have been offered some Hankook Vantra LT 175/80 R14 99Q  8 Ply. Can anybody tell me if
these are suitable as they say 175/80 mine don't have the /80.

Thanks OB1

Hi there ob1,the 175R14 is the same size as the 175/80R14 .The 80 relates to the aspect ratio of the tyre and on the older tyres the 80 was never actually marked on the tyre. And it is correct that the RA08 has been superseded by the Vantra. And yes they are perfectly suitable for your van.Hankook is a very good quality tyre.

    Write your comments here...your welcome

and yes now is the time to change them if they are 6 yrs old. Even if they look in mint condition they will be fatigued internally and they can let you down with out warning.

is it defo 80? that would make the tyre wall 140mm, and i have measured mine a lot and it looks like 120mm ish which would make them a 70? lets gloss over the fact that i still have these tyres.........

Yes the aspect ratio of a tyre that is not defined on the sidewall is 80%

    OR

It is sometimes 82% as some manufacturers make them this way as this used to be the old standard when radial tyres were introduced.

80 or 82 are virtually the same so use either.
