hi our fridge a thetford digital display won't fire up on gas can hear the igniter clicking and it sounds like the gas is going through but won't ignite any ideas please

    Is the gas turned on there could be local isolation valve adjacent to the fridge ,check nearby cupboards etc

    Sometimes it can take quite a while for the gas to come through the pipe to the fridge, it is possible on auto igniter fridges that the auto igniter can time-out before the gas has traveled all the way to the fridge. Gas appears to be heard coming through
    the fridge when it is actually air in the pipe being pushed out by the gas traveling towards the fridge. It must be rememberd that if the fridge fails to light you must wait 2-3 minutes before trying again to allow the built in gas safety device to reset.

    We turn on the largest hob gas ring to draw air out of the gas pipe before running anything else on gas, because doing so will purge the pipeline of air. The most common cause of gas appliances which were working, to stop working, is a failed thermocouple.
    A relatively cheap repair.
