12v interior lights inop
Hi all,
i took my caravan out recently to make sure everything was as it should be and found that on the second day of use the 12 volt internal lights had stopped working. They were working fine on the first day. I have tested and checked all the fuses in the Zig
and PCB and found no issues. The Battery is showing over 12 volts and there is 12 volts from charger to the PCB and also checked all the wires behind the zig. The rocker switch it set correctly but no joy. My suspicions are that the PCB could be at fault but
before I purchase a new one I was wondering if any of you chaps had any ideas. also I have. The caravan is a 1996 Bailey Ranger 380/2.
Many thanks for any help

We had a similar problem with an 8 year old van. The fault spontaneously disappeared soon after, so a corroded connection somewhere in the obscure wiring loom was suspected. A tricky fault to find I'm afraid. I can only suggest that you make sure that you
have a portable awning light if your lights do start to work. As a serious suggestion, you might try towing the van for a few miles to vibrate connections enough to break down corrosion. If that doesn't work, then I'm afraid it's back to the dealer for you.0 -
Can you get a meter (or a buzzer tester, or lamp) and check for a voltage on the low voltage wires going into and coming from the charger?
There can be an internal fuse in some of these controller units so worth a look when you take it apart to look for obvious damage. Both 250v mains and battery physically disconnected then of course!
