Dometic toilet flush
l placed a discussion some weeks ago about the problem with the dometic toilet in my Lunar Clubman SB 2015 model. Today l took the van into my dealer who have said they have been in touch with Dometic who now acknowledge a problem with some of the wiring looms in their toilets, mine being one of them. This means the whole toilet has to be removed, also l have asked for them to upgrade the pump to increase the flush has reported on this caravan club forum, l am waiting for an answer as Dometic are reluctant to supply another, seems l will have to take this up with them personnally if the dealer can't get one supplied. l have been told by the workshop that it is advisable to do the pump at the same time in case the pump needs changing in the future as the pump also requires the toilet to be removed, this seems totally rediculous to remove a toilet just to change faulty pump. Anyone else out their having the same issues with their Dometic toilet and they say German engineering is the best Urgh!

I was of the opinion that Dometic toilets were designed in America (I could be wrong!).but wherever they were designed I beleive them to be rubbish (spelt cr.p).The design of the flush filler is pathetic, the flush is pathetic and as has been explained to
replace the pump requires removal of the toilet.not too mention the faulty elbow design in the flush system which is a pain in the a.se to replace when it splits!!!0 -
I assume the flush works 2ithin the Dometic spec like mine but is pretty pathetic. If that is the case I am afraid that you cannot insist on the pump being replaced but I agree the whole idea of having to remove the toilet to do it is pretty stupid.
The problem as I see it is there are only two suppliers of toilets and most other caravan bits. This lack of competition means you are stuck with overpriced rubbish, poor service and with very little alternative to what you have got.

Feeble flush agreed. You just get used to it.
Also agree with the filler design, fine if you were using a petrol nozzle but useless for watering can etc.

I have a Dometic loo in a 2014 Burstner motohome. Its the only part of the vehicle that is less than satisfactory. Unlike the Dometic loos in a caravan, flushing water is fed from the on-board water tank and uses the on-board water tank pump. The flushing
system is still very poor compared to other caravan/motorhome loos. Since the flushing water comes from the on-board tank there's no way of using an additive and so the loos begins to smell in warm weather. I'm contemplating fitting an auxiliary pump and water
tank to try to overcome the issues. I'll let you know if this improves the flushing.0 -
The van is in at the moment waiting to here from the dealer if they have managed to get dometic to upgrade the pump, l shall have ago my self with them if they are not successful. If l don't get anyware will concider buying it myself, seems daft to have
the toilet out and not upgrade, let you know how it goes.Heethers

Just to let you know caravan is in this week, for service and warranty work to the dometic toilet flush, new wiring loom as Dometic say their is a problem with some of the wiring looms, being repalced on warranty, also dometic have agreed to a new uprated pump, all l need now is the van back so we can make our first trip only been in it twice since we bought it due my father's illness last year who sadley passed away in september. So now looking forward to our trips to Bridlington, Gowerton, Freshwater East and Burford plus a few weekenders, the van can now start earning its corn after a hefty outlay
