Eriba caravans
a number of months ago hubby spotted a lovely (not to big ) Eriba touring caravan in mint condition , he absolutely loved it , anyway since then he has been all over the net doing research and they seem to be a bit of a collectors type van , we have been
to most parts of the country and loads and loads is CC sites but can't remember seeing any
Do anyone have one or knows someone who do would like to know what there thoughts are

Yes I have had an Eriba 420 for the last eight years - utterly basic and most people would hate it, but they turn their heads as we fly by.

I assume that you mean the Eriba touring range? To complicate matters on the continent Hymer caravans tend to be badged Eriba no matter what size, Hymer is reserved for Motorhomes. Our 2015 Hymer Nova has 2 Hymer badges and one Eriba on the back
For us at the moment the touring range would be too small. But they are a design classic very well built last a longtime, they are initially expensive in terms of price per area and relatively heavy but they hold there value.

Ruby, they don't actually have to be basic. Like all German vans you can specify whatever extras you want on top of the base vehicle. It's just that we didn't ask for many.
The main dealer in the south is Automotive Leisure at Poole - their website will show you dozens of different models, both new and second hand. But sit down with a stiff drink before you look at current prices!

We have a beautiful Eriba, it's a familia 310 without loo or hot water and we love it. No worries about dragging water or emptying toilets. We can be set up within 10 minutes of arrival and having a brew. To tour with these delightful Eribas is so easy.

The Eriba Touring range is unique in the caravanning world. My particular favourite is the layout of the 420. Beautifully finished, of high build quality and high resale value.
We have an Eriba dealership about 20 minutes drive from home.
I really like them but my wife is not keen because of the limited space. So we will stick to our British built Caravan.

Write your comments here...the heaviest Eribas have a max laden weight of 1200kg, unless you opt for the axle upgrade to 1300kg.
As for towing, due to their low profile and aerodynamics you don't now your towing a caravan.

Had our Troll 540 for almost a year and love it. It's easy to tow, has evrything in we need: washroom, toilet, heating, hot and cold water and plenty of storage. It's very easy to tow.

We also find our little Eriba so easy to tow and believe me we have been in some very tricky situations due to relying too much on sat Nav directions

If our car can fit thru then so can our Eriba. 7 years ago we bought it to see if touring was for us as the main plan was to eventually buy a Hymer motorhome. Never did we realise that we would fall in love with this wacky little thing and now find the
thought of parting with it unbearable. Ours has a fixed bed which is made up before we set off allowing us to just hit the sack after a long journey. We have a kyham motordome classic awning which we use for any long stays and having toured with 2 large
dogs this gives us plenty of space. We should really be thinking of swapping for a larger troll with 2 single beds as ill health is making it increasingly difficult for me to climb over hubby if I want to get up first but I'm not sure we can part with our
Familia, they really do get under your skin.0 -
We see many more Eribas in mainland Europe than here in the UK. They suit the continental caravan lifestyle - different sort of sites from ours, different weather, mainly seasonal use, outdoor living, use of on-site toilets and showers, greater distances to travel, and so on.
Much as I love our own Eriba I recognise that it would not suit many here - the demand here is for ever bigger caravans on fully serviced pitches, greater comfort, en suite bathrooms, separate lounge and bedroom, heating for all year use, bigger fridge-freezers, ovens and microwaves (we have neither), and essentially indoor living.
I can't see many of you joining us.

Drongo thanks so much for further info hubby and I have become quite obsessed with the Eriba for a number of mths now wasn't even in the market for a caravan we have had a tourer in the past then changed to very luxury motorhome as eurotraveller said with (3 we had still got one ) all mod cons
The Eriba don't need it to big there's just me him and the pug so it will suit or now change of priorities which is shorter trips / stays give us the car for site seeing more around the areas
the dealer in Dorset looks extremly professional ( on website ) so will get down there soon , would consider used, would also consider used private sale but feel we don't know enough about them yet

Write your comments here...We have a 420GT which we absolutely love. It is equiped with a thermostatically controlled heater, flushing loo, three burner hob and fridge and running cold water. We just boil a kettle for hot water. We do not find it in
the least bit basic, it is so easy to set up, very snug and comfortable. Apart from that it's compact dimensions making towing effortless. Don't hesitate.0 -

i love eribas and always have i think they are iconic was that your titan on ebay last year ne55y? i really fancied it if it was then next thing it had vanished i was gutted but hubby was relieved lol ,have a hymer (caravan) and love it

They are lovely caravans, very well made. My OH has always wanted one, but we usually have at least two big dogs in tow so I think we need something larger than the Troll or Titan. Superbly built vans though, and can be stored in garage! If you are anywhere
Tebay up in Cumbria, good dealer up there, sell Airstreams and T@bs as well. We have seen lots up and down and on sites and CLs. A proper "caravanners" caravan!0 -

Seen our first Eriba in flesh so to speak today
