Fiamma Caravan Store

Can any body out there help with this, I am only asking because I have just had a knee replacemnet and can't get out to my caravan to check. I have Jubilee Aristocrat 2007 model at 7.2 external length, what size would be the largest Fiamma Caravan store
that would fit my externai rail? Thanks

    We use a 3.6m caravan store on our Laser which I think is 7.9m. Plenty big enough for us as long as we remember to use   the centre rafter pole.

    Likewise, we have a 3.6m Caravanstore on our Ranger (shipping length 7.15m) so you should be ok so long as you have 3.6m of level awning rail.

    Personally, I would email Swift and ask them for the length of the flat bit of the roof.  Then I would email the length to Fiamma and ask them about the size of the awning gs that would fit.

    We are having a new (Bailey) van next month and want to have a Thule Omnistore fitted.  This is exactly what I did to get the information I needed.  I got the exact information required and got it sorted that way.

    Hi,

    I have a 7.1 mtr van and have a 4.1 mtr Fiammastore that fits fine but like previously mentioned it would be best to check with manufacturers if unable to measure yourself.

    We have used the Fiamma units for many years.

    Being small I have had to stand on a water barrel to release and 'roll up' the unit - herself has never been fit enough to help.

    As time has gone on I have had to reduce the length of the canopy due to the weight involved rolling it up.

    Last year I just managed to roll up the 2.8m version, so we've sold it and this year we will be using an Isabella Shadow canopy - I'll let you know how it compares !

    Whats the verdict on the caravanstore, heard different stories some swear by them some don't. Do they cause any damage to the side of the van when towing, is it difficult to roll up. l would buy if l can be convinced that the two issues l mention are not

    Brillant piece of kit, had different ones on 5 vans now, only damage was caused when out in 90 mph winds, and rooled up fiamma banged against the side of the van all night. Doom and gloom merchants will tell you that they damage the awning rail in transit,
    never in my experience. Those who store van away from house have said that they are highly prized by the light fingered brigade.

    Two years of use now, no damage to my caravan or awning rail, or come to that the awning light as one end of the bag rests on there Laughing. Good bit of kit and although the two of us erect the canopy it can at a push be done by one person, but not comfortably. Rolling up is quite simple, I can do that on my own (if need to) from its centre then velcro strap it in the bag before doing the same at the ends.

    Quite a sturdy unit when erected, especially with the storm straps, and the centre pole for the longer units of 3.6m and above. Five minutes to put away in the bag if a tornado is fast approaching, good in a stiff breeze but like most canopies it's not designed for very bad weather. Comes into its own when abroad for shade if needed.

    I also have a side piece to act as a windbreak and a bit of shelter for the bike and boots etc if raining, the side piece is designed to be used on either side dependent upon which way the wind is blowing.

    We have a 4m on our caravan with the zip-in sides. Caravanstore Zip. Brilliant piece of kit... love it.

    Never caused any damage but after reading some of the stories on various fora, I used a soft velcro pad at three connection points on the side, although there are pads on the bag anyway. No problem rolling up either although "The Assistant Manager" helps.

    Go for it.

    Love mine. I got rid of my awning as it was such a nightmare to put up by myself (I don't caravan alone but the dogs never help me) and got a caravanstore instead. No problem at all when towing and I can put it up by myself very easily. I just have to remember
    to tuck the bag out of the way of the light.

    For putting it away, like previous posters, I roll it up in the middle first, velco that shut firmly and then do the ends. With me being only 5'3", I do have to use the caravan steps though but that's not Fiamma's fault.

    I'm planning on getting one or two sides to act as windbreaks and shelter for kit left outside too.

    Love mine as well.  Don't bother taking full awning when going to sunny climes.  Tow with it attached and no damage to caravan at all.

    Been using one for seven years now, five years on one van, two on the current one, no damage or problems, best move we made, rolls up in minutes, even if it's wet. Modified slightly more Velcro strip on the centre rafter and on the roof panel, stops the
    roof panel flapping against the rafter. No worse than any other awning in the wind, yes if only using without the side and front panels as the wind can get underneath it.
