does the 2016 model have any joints on the roof ?

or is it just where the front panel and rear panel meet the roof ?

  It is just where the roof meets the front and rear panels and the sides. Not sure why you ask but wonder if there is a problem.

  just wondering why have any joints on a roof where water can puddle and not run off

  you would think they might follow other makes and hava a1 piece roof with no joints on it !
