Water pump

hello, as relative newcomers we are still finding our way with our Sprite. It has a Truma water pump that, at times seems to rumble away.

for example, last night everything was quiet at bedtime, with the heating set low at 16 but there was a feint noise coming from the water pump. Went out and saw water too low so filled up the water container but still the noise persists.

any suggestions or is this normal ?

mmm. we have a Sprite but while we do have an 'after' pump noise, that is the pump runs for a few seconds after the tap is off, and sometimes its runs for a few seconds at random times I've not noticed any pump noises otherwise. Have you actaully tracked
down where the noise is coming from, the pump is near your combi, it may be the combi that is making the noise with its fan on low? Easy to test, switch the combi off and see if the noise is still there.

Otherwise the presure in the water pipes may need adjusting, There is a large white knob near the pump that controls the presure, turn it very slighlyone way or the other to see if the noise goes away?

Hi, thanks for the quick (very) reply.

if the heating is switched off it immediatley stops.

but the pump still work? if so it sounds like the fan in the combi then which is normal, are you using it on gas and electric, I've noticed our fan goes quicker on gas+electric.

Solved .... For now but not sure why.

switched all power off and back on and seems to have reset so now no noise. Run taps, pump works, then cuts off as expected.

at least I have a workaround if it occurs again.

    thanks for help.
