Stain removal

We had a disaster of a day today, the 13 pin socket was twisted so we can't currently hook up.  Also when emptying the cupbaords a box of Bovril cubes had turned to liquid and have dripped over the upholstery.  I've done my best to remove the stain, but
suspect there will be some residue left when we go back to look tomorrow.

Can anyone suggest a good stain remover that would work well on our Lunar upholstery.

Hi - sorry to hear of the accident. I use 1001 troubleshooter and have found it to be pretty good for carpet and upholstery stains but I would try it on the underside of your cushion first. It can take a second attempt to eradicate the stain and can take
a day or two to dry before you brush or vacuum it. I wouldn't ever use Vanish as I think it contains a bleach that can lighten the patch. Just be careful if you use a new houshold sponge don't use a blue one as the colour can transfer. Good luck !

Thanks Freelander, never seen a stock cube turn to liquid still in it's packaging that's for sure.  Will try the product you recommend.

We once had a Chinese takeaway which leaked all over the back seat of our car.  Looked terrible.  Autoglym upholstery cleaner worked a treat.  That's the one we usually go to now.

If the stain is soaked in, the only way to get it out is to use a carpet/upholstery vacuum type cleaner.  You can soak the stain thoroughly with cleaning fluid, then 'suck out' the stain.  You can hire them by the day from a lot of supermarkets (the Rug
Doctor I think they are called?) I bought one years ago and it does a great annual clean on the van carpets and cushions, the dirt that comes out is amazing (by which I mean horrifying!Foot in Mouth)

Well I'm delighted to say that a combination of baby wipes when the stain first occurred (I learn't they worked well years ago on clothing) and then finishing off with 1001 as suggested by Freelander, has got rid of the stain.

Small update to this and your advice is needed again.  The stains have gone as mentioned, but now the upholstery has dried out totally overnight I now appear to have a rather large watermark ring.

I agree with Mark, we have a Vax and have used it with sucess on various upholstery ... caravan & car. And also there seems to be no way that the amount of sh1te that ends up up in the bottom tank could possibly have come out of the cushions
