We have just used an Approved Workshop Scheme mobile service chap ourselves for the first time and for the same reason as you. We have a 2 year old Lunar. We checked with Lunar firstly to check they would be happy for us to use him. They were fine with
it as he was on the approved list. You should do the same with Swift - I understood from our servicing guy that you may need to send the service details to Swift to log the service in order to maintain the warranty. The guy was great and I think the caravan
had the best service ever! The service book was stamped and we were given all the printouts with the completed checks. Excellent service.0 -
This may hopefullt clear the question up direct fromSwift website:-
The Annual Service must be carried out in accordance with the requirements in this handbook. You will be responsible for any charges made for an Annual Service. If the Annual Service is performed by an authorised Swift Group Service Centre then Swift warrants
that the Annual Service has been performed correctly. If the Annual Service is performed by an unauthorised repairer or service centre then if the Annual Service has not been performed in accordance with the requirements in this handbook and/or work has been
performed on your caravan that is defective or faulty, then Swift will not be obliged to perform any work under this Warranty (insofar as it relates to defective or faulty work or defective Annual Service). So as long as the service is done correctly and logged it does not have to be done by a swift approved repairer.

You can use an approved workshop or mobile engineer to service your van and send the documentation to Swift to maintain the warranty. However, ONLY Swift dealers are authorised to carry out warranty work. Finding anyone other than the supplying dealer to
take on warranty repairs is difficult if not impossible. There are many post on Swift-talk about this issue.0 -
The mobile engineer i mentioned told me he had consent from Swift to carry out warranty work in the Lincolnshire area. He could not do it in Notts. area as a local dealer had objected. I can only report what i was told, as i stated before other than using
him for service i have no connection with the firm.0 -
The Swift guarantee requires you to use a NCC approved workshop if you use someone else. Swift do however also guarantee the actual work of Swift agents but not the work of anyone else. Basically if the Swift agent messes up the work you are still protected
but if someone else does that then Swift do not cover that error.0
